Sweden have been qualifying for major tournaments more often in recent years, but they failed to make it to the World Cup, losing to Poland. Now, Janne Andersson's charges will try to get a ticket to Qatar through Euro 2024 and the Nations League. So far, the Swedes first defeated the Slovenians on the road - 2:0. In the second game they unexpectedly suffered a home defeat against Norway - 1:2.
Serbia
Serbia is not frequent participant in the championships but we will see them at the World Cup. They managed to snatch first place from Portugal in the group due to a 90-minute goal. Having solved the main task, Dragan Stojković's charges slacked off a little. In March, they played two friendlies, beating Hungary 1:0, but losing to Denmark 0:3. In the Nations League the Eagles are also unsteady: in the opening game they unexpectedly lost at home to Norway - 0:1, then crushed Slovenia - 4:1. Now the Serbs are waiting for the away games.
Expert Betting Tips
The teams are of a comparable level, so they play in the same division of the Nations League. Both have the same stats, earning three points after two rounds. Home field advantage will be in favor of Sweden. Serbia is slightly more skilled, which levels the chances of opponents to succeed. As a result, a draw is more likely to be the outcome.
Serbia didn't shine in the first NL game - they didn't score in a match with Norway but sent four goals to Slovenia's net. So the motivated Eagles regained some confidence. However, Sweden always scores on the home field, so the Serbs must stay sharp.
Aleksandar Mitrovic is the main hope of Serbia in the offense. The 27-year-old forward is in great form, as evidenced by his 43 goals in 44 games for Fulham in the UCL last season. For the national team, Mitrovic is also irreplaceable as in the 49 meetings he scored 40 goals (0.82 average), which is an impressive figure. Keep in mind that the day before, he had already scored against Slovenia.
