The Montenegrin national team performed exceptionally well in qualifying for the 2022 World Cup. The team didn't succeed. They finished fourth in their group with 12 points from ten games. The Montenegrins played two friendlies in the spring, losing 0:1 to Armenia and 1:0 to Greece.

Romania was very close to qualifying for at least a place in the World Cup. The Romanians scored 17 points in their ten qualifying games to finish third in the group, just one behind Northern Macedonia. As for the March friendlies, Romania lost 0:1 to Greece and then drew with Israel (2:2).

We are not expecting overproductive football in this encounter as the teams will probably play defensively. Speaking of favorites, we favor Montenegro with the support of their fans in Podgorica.
