Gent is a solid mid-table side in the Belgian league, finishing fifth last season and, in the current edition of the tournament, aiming to break into the top four to continue in the championship in the strongest group. That said, they are in good form right now, as they've picked up four wins in the last five rounds, with one draw against second-place Union (1:1). On the international scene, the Blues and Whites are also doing well. They beat Qarabag in the Conference League round of 32 on penalties, and in the last game, they handled Turkish club Istanbul Başakşehir in a much easier way, 1:1 and 4:1.
West Ham
For West Ham, this season is tough. They lived near the relegation zone for a long time, but they gradually improved the situation. In the previous four rounds, the Hammers suffered only one defeat at the hands of Newcastle - 1:5, they had to share the points with Aston Villa - 1:1, and they won at Southampton and Fulham - 1:0. That win lifted the Londoners to 14th place in the standings, five points ahead of the relegation zone. But in the Conference League, David Moyes's charges are the real kings, as in all the previous ten games, they won with a total score of 19:5.
Expert Betting Tips
West Ham, in recent weeks, has created a comfortable margin in the EPL in terms of the struggle for survival, so now can safely focus on the performance in the Conference League. And before that, the Londoners have shown excellent results in the third European Cup, winning all of the previous ten games, and now they are even the favorites. David Moyes' side doesn't want to drag things out until the return leg, so a bet on West Ham's victory is in order.
West Ham in the EPL is not an incredibly reliable defensive formation, but at the level of the League of Conferences is excellent to build a defensive line. In the previous ten meetings, the Londoners conceded only five goals (0.50 average per game), and in the last four games, they have not conceded a single goal. Gent plays well in the national championship games in attack, but against the English, they are unlikely to show themselves. On this basis, the best option for the prediction seems to be an individual total of Gent under 0.5 goals, and separately we should have a closer look at the bet on Daniel Ings' goal.
