Leipzig vs Manchester City Prediction: Expect a win for the guests

RB Leipzig will face Manchester City at home in the Champions League round of 16. The two teams have played two head-to-head games in their history, which took place in the previous tournament, as part of the group stage. The Bulls and the Citizens exchanged home victories. Can the home team continue this trend in head-to-head matches?

RB Leipzig had a relatively easy group in the Champions League. Not surprisingly, one of the best clubs in the Bundesliga in recent seasons was able to deal with such opponents as Shakhtar and Celtic. The Bulls finished second in Group F, only one point behind Real Madrid. The team expectedly reached the playoffs of the Champions League from first place in Group G. Manchester City scored 14 points in six games and confidently won the group. As for their performance in the English Premier League, Man City managed to lead the table for only three days. After beating Arsenal in a rescheduled match of Matchday 12 (3:1), the Citizens visited Nottingham Forest. The team had a huge advantage in the game and many scoring opportunities. However, City only scored once against Keylor Navas and failed to hold on to their lead (1:1). Manchester City slipped back down to second place in the English league table.

Manchester City is the favorite of the pair. After their upset loss against Nottingham Forest, Guardiola's players will be very motivated. Let's not forget that the famous specialist has not yet won the Champions League at the helm of the Citizens. With such a squad and the effectiveness of Erling Haaland, Manchester City has a better chance of success. RB Leipzig is unlikely to repeat the result of their last home performance against the English club. In the first game of the round of 16, we give preference to the visitors.
