Eintracht Frankfurt vs Napoli Prediction: What to expect from the upcoming battle?

The first matches of the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League continue. The meeting between Eintracht and Napoli is coming up. What to expect from the upcoming battle?

Eintracht performs well in the current Bundesliga season. Currently, the team is in sixth place in the table with 38 points. However, due to the high intensity, it is only five points behind the leading Bayern. Moreover, if it were not for the defeat in the previous matchday from Cologne (0:3), the situation would be better. However, the team made amends in the past, beating Werder 2:0. Overall, their picture is pretty good - only one defeat in 11 previous meetings.

Recall that Eintracht is the reigning winner of the Europa League. In the Champions League group stage, the Eagles were second in the quartet with Tottenham, Sporting, and Marseille. Although the opponents are not top-flight, it does not cancel out the team's merits. In six rounds, they scored ten points.

Bookmakers rightly see Napoli as the favorite in the upcoming game. The Italian club is in excellent condition now, knocking everything out in their way, and they can pass Eintracht for sure. However, there is still a return match in Naples, where everything will be decided, and meanwhile, the teams will try to look at each other, reducing the risks to a minimum. It is, therefore, unlikely that we should expect a goal extravaganza. The German team should not be written off - they're good at home, plus they know perfectly well that it will be incredibly difficult for them on the road. The Eagles will put up a fight, but they can hardly beat the Neapolitans.

In general, we expect a low-scoring encounter in which Napoli can at least not lose. The logical outcome is a win for the visitors with the minimum score difference or a draw.
