Atlético de Madrid vs Club Brugge Prediction: Will the home team move up from fourth place in the group?

Atletico started well in the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League with a 2:1 home win over Porto. First, the Indians lost to Bayer and then to Brugge, both of which were away matches. After losing in Belgium, the Spurs played one game in La Liga, ending up stronger than Girona (2:1). In the Spanish championship, Atletico has played four home games, two of which they have won with two defeats.

The situation repeated as Club Brugge lost the Belgian league game again following the Champions League match. On 18 September, the Bianconeri were weaker than Standard after their defeat of Porto. On eight October, Brugge lost their home away to Westerlo after beating Atletico Madrid. Brugge made a solid start to the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League, winning three times in three games with a score of 7:0. In general, Brugge can already be called the opener in the group stage of the tournament, and there's little doubt that they will be missing out on the playoffs this season.

On the one hand, Atletico is a rather low-scoring team in the Champions League, but on the other hand, the last four home matches of the Spurs have been with a total over 2.5. Most importantly, Madrid needs a win in the upcoming game, allowing the Spaniards to climb to at least third place in the group and perhaps finally get into the top 2 of the quartet.
