Sydney have shown big indications of improvement during the 2022-23 campaign, which has left them in a strong position to qualify for the playoffs. However, if they want to keep that all-important final playoff slot, they will need to puts an end to their recent terrible run of form.
Three of the previous four matches that the Sky Blues have played have ended in defeat for them. Their most recent loss was a humiliating 4-0 setback at home against the Western Sydney Wanderers. Prior to that, they were defeated 1-0 away at Wellington Phoenix.
To be fair, Steve Corica's team has faced challenging opponents in recent weeks, including a heartbreaking loss away at league-leading Melbourne City. However, their schedule will get easier as the season draws to a close, as they will face two of the teams that are currently ranked in the bottom three in their final three matches.
This team's home record has shown some signs of improvement as of late, as they have dropped only one of their previous four games in front of their own supporters, but it still has a long way to go before it can be considered good enough for the playoffs.
Western United FC (LWWWL)
As the season has progressed, Western United have shown marked improvement, winning three of their most recent four A-League matches to put themselves back in the running for the playoffs after having been eliminated from the running totally earlier in the season.
Despite this, all three victories came against teams who finished in the lower half of the table, thus United's match on Saturday will provide an opportunity for them to prove themselves against stronger competition.
United's previous strong run came to an abrupt end in their most recent match, which was played away against Brisbane Roar. They were defeated by a late goal scored by Jay O'Shea, and they were unable to produce any clear-cut opportunities for the entirety of the match.

Expert Betting Tips
The Sydney side has been in particularly bad form as of late, failing to score in both of their most recent games. They have also battled at home throughout the entire season, collecting fewer points than any other team when playing on their own turf.
We believe that Western United has a chance to pull off an upset and emerge victorious by a close margin if they continue their strong play away from home in recent weeks, where they have won two of their previous three matches.
When Sydney FC takes the field against Western United, we anticipate that they will have a good chance of scoring multiple goals against a Western United team that may have trouble finding the back of the net themselves.
