St. Mirren vs Rangers Prediction: Rangers to secure another vital win

At Paisley 2021 Stadium, St. Mirren will play Rangers in round 19 of the Scottish Premiership. Both teams secured a league win the previous time out and will hope for a positive result here. How will this game unfold? I will look into the preview of this game and make predictions.

St. Mirren took on Ross County the previous weekend, and they secured a win. In a game that ended 1-2, goals from Alex Iacovitti and Oisin Smyth were enough to see this team take maximum points. However, St. Mirren have won three of their last five games, defeating St Johnstone and Aberdeen, which ended 2-3 and 2-1. Yet, St. Mirren lost to Dundee United and Motherwell in that run, ending 0-1 and 2-0. This season, St. Mirren have 24 points from 18 matches, leaving them 6th in the standings. 

Rangers were at home against Dundee FC the previous weekend, and they secured maximum points. In a game that ended 1-0, Vaclav Cerny's lone strike in the first minute of the second half was enough to see this side return to winning ways. 

In prior games to that win, the Rangers lost to the Celtic on penalties in the League Cup while they were drawing Tottenham in the Europa League. However, their other games ended in wins over Ross County, Kilmarnock, St Johnstone, and Nice in their recent matchups. With 35 points, Rangers sit 2nd in the standings, scoring 28 goals and conceding 9. 

St. Mirren will score in this game, but I do not see them taking a point at full-time. While Rangers have had a number of strong results in the league, their league win chances are not over, and I am certain they will win here. Also, while looking at how St. Mirren has struggled defensively, a bet on goals is another option.
