Valencia vs Real Valladolid Prediction: Can the home side live up to their status as favourites?

Valencia face Valladolid in round 31 of the Spanish championship. Can the home side live up to their status as favourites?

Valencia is having a terrible season. The team is still in the relegation zone and is struggling to survive. They are 18th in the table with 30 points before the round, with the higher side Almeria on the same amount of points. They have not been fantastic in recent matches. Prior to last weekend, they had three defeats in four games, as well as one draw. Last weekend, however, Valencia showed their best football and beat Elche away with a score of 2:0. Of course, not beating such a weak side would have been a shame, but it was worth it in this situation.

For their part, Valladolid looks a lot like Valencia. However, even in the run-up to the season, it was clear that its resources were pretty limited, so there would be a fight for survival. So far, the team is doing very well - after 30 rounds, they sit in 14th position in the table with 35 points. That means the relegation zone is not a threat to it. Furthermore, they have improved in their previous matches. After a 3:3 draw with Mallorca, Valladolid secured two straight wins. Quite unexpectedly, they beat Villarreal 2:1 and then beat Girona 1:0.

The bookmakers' analysts reckon Valencia is the favorite. However, we believe they underestimate Valladolid. The visitors are in high spirits, have three straight matches without defeat, and have won twice in the previous two rounds. The opponents are in markedly worse shape - they're virtually unbeaten. We think the Purple and White have an excellent chance of earning at least one point in the upcoming battle, which we suggest betting on.
