Real Sociedad vs Barcelona: Will the Basques break their losing streak against Barcelona?

The thirty-third round of the Spanish La Liga will end with the encounter between Real Sociedad and Barcelona. The central match of the game day, in which bookmakers, despite the field factor, consider the Catalans to be the favorites. The fact that the Basques had three more days to rest and recover from their last matchday's fixture means that Real Sociedad are the favorites. In other words, Real Sociedad play virtually one match a week, unlike the Blaugrana.

For two months, Barça's football and results have been exemplary. The period culminated in a 4-0 thrashing of Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. After the break, the Catalans were still on the positive side for a while: a narrow win over Sevilla, an away win against Levante, and what seemed to be a promising away draw with Eintracht. But two recent results put the Barcelona fans in a real tizzy: a home defeat to Eintracht and relegation from the Europa League, and a home defeat to Cadiz. In itself, the defeat at the hands of Cadiz was no big deal, the Catalans did not expect to win the title, and despite their defeat, the Blaugrana managed to retain their second place. However, the negative trend suggests that the visitors are on the decline. Barcelona's away statistics are second in the division, with seven wins and two defeats in 16 games on a goal difference of 28-18.

Real Sociedad have been quite a comfortable opponent for Barcelona in recent times, but in our opinion, this does not mean that the Basques must necessarily lose on Thursday. After a very turbulent and positive March, the Catalans lost two important matches in April, dropped out of the Europa League, and noticeably worsened their standings in La Liga. The Basques, on the other hand, are doing very well against the top teams in Spain. Also worth considering is the fact that Barcelona continue to play two games a week, while Real Sociedad have had virtually a week to prepare for the upcoming game. H1 (0.25) for 1.94.

If Cadiz managed to beat Barcelona, why shouldn't Real Sociedad try their luck in a home game? Not so long ago, the Basques beat Atletico in the Spanish Cup on home soil, so they have chances against the Catalans as well. Our second betting option is a home win for Real Sociedad for 3.32.
