Barcelona vs Real Sociedad: It's going to be fine without Messi at first

It’s going to be hard. There’s no pretending - Lionel was the greatest asset to the team. The situation is dire, but it is what it is. Now, the team will have to rely on themselves - there won’t be a person to decide the outcome of the match with one moment on their side.

Barcelona is unlikely to win the championship, but it's off to a good start. There is such a thing as the Ewing Theory in basketball. When the best player of a team leaves, other players start unlocking their potential. That's what's going to happen with Barcelona at the start of the season. The problems will arise later, it’s inevitable. The start is sure to be great, though.

The White and Blues are quite good. They won the 2019-20 Copa del Rey. It gave them absolutely no advantages, but any trophy is extremely valuable for Sociedad. The last season was quite poor for the team, but a decent finish got them a spot in the Europa League.

Sociedad is obviously weaker than Barcelona, even without Messi. I don't think they will manage to score a point at Camp Nou, especially since their last match against the Catalan team ended in a 1-6 loss.
