Royal AM vs Supersport United Prediction: Both teams' defence has been terrible lately, and we expect goals here

After six games without a win, Supersport United will be keen to secure their first win in 2024 when they face off against Royal AM at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday. Both teams have been in terrible shape lately, but the hosts look like they will come off with at least a point here.

Supersport United suffered another defeat on the road as they were beaten by Kaiser Chiefs. They were actually at the top of their game but are not so good at converting their chances. 

Gavin Hunt's men dropped to 7th place on the log following their recent run in the division. The Spartans have been shaky at the back in recent games as they march here without a clean sheet in twenty-eight matches in all competitions. Supersport United have picked up thirty-five points from a possible seventy-five, scoring thirty and conceding thirty-one times. Supersport United have won four, drawn five, and lost five away from home this season. 

Over their previous twenty meetings, Royal AM have won six while Supersport United have recorded five and nine games ending in a tie. Supersport United are extremely predictable as everyone knows they’ll eventually concede here. Their defense has been nothing short of disappointing, and they are yet to keep a clean sheet in twenty-eight matches. At the same time, Royal AM were totally overwhelmed by the visiting Orlando Pirates, conceding four times on their ground. Before then, they were undefeated in five games in front of their home supporters. 

This game has produced goals in recent meetings, and we think both teams' defence won’t disappoint us. Royal AM have the advantage to return to winning ways, but we expect the visitors to give them a run for their money. We are going to settle for goals; bet on BTTS and over 2.5 goals for 2.95.

We expect both teams to get a goal apiece for 2.06.
