Celtic vs Aberdeen Prediction: Both sides are expected to score here

Ange Postecoglou's team will be hosting Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon. Even though they lost 4-2 at Hibernian on Wednesday, Celtic are still 13 points ahead of second-place Rangers in the Scottish Premiership. This was only Celtic's third league loss of the season. Aberdeen earned third place in the table this week with a 3-0 win against St. Mirren, due in large part to a brace from Wigan Athletic loanee Graeme Shinnie.

On Wednesday, a much-changed Celtic side threw away the lead twice at Easter Road, allowing Hibs to achieve a historic victory over the 53-time Scottish champions. Despite piling up 18 shots and enjoying 70% control, Hibs lost 2-1. After Daizen Maeda's sending off midway through the second half, the hosts scored three unanswered goals to steal the win. Reo Hatate gave the Bhoys the lead right before halftime, and Oh Hyeon-gyu tied the game just before the hour mark. Over a six-month span from October to April, Celtic went undefeated in the Premier League, achieving a historic run of 25 wins and two draws en route to their 11th top-flight title in 12 seasons. Since then, though, the champions have only managed to pick up one point out of a possible nine, suffering 3-0 and 2-2 defeats at the hands of Rangers and St. Mirren, respectively, before Wednesday's shocking loss in the nation's capital. It's fair to say Celtic have slowed down in recent weeks after dominating the league all season, but Postecoglou and his players still believe they can end the season well.

To this stage, Aberdeen have had a great conclusion to the season under the leadership of Barry Robson, who took over for Jim Goodwin as manager at Pittodrie in the new year. Aberdeen were in seventh place when former midfielder Robson took over as manager. Aberdeen are currently four points ahead of fourth-placed Hearts with one game to go after winning nine of their 14 games under Robson's guidance while keeping eight clean sheets. Even though they only had 25% of the ball against the Glasgow giants, the Dons went on a seven-game winning streak from February to April, including a famous 2-0 triumph over Rangers. Robson's men will be in a confident mood after their resounding victory over St. Mirren on Wednesday. Despite Aberdeen's inconsistency lately, they won once, drew once, and lost twice, and they will be ready to take on the champions, hoping for a good result.

Even though they are enormous underdogs in this match, Aberdeen have been playing quite well as of late. The fact that Celtic are a better team does not change the reality that the away team will compete to the best of their abilities. Therefore, a wager on over 2.5 goals with both teams scoring is something that should be considered in this matchup.
