Rwanda will square off against Libya in their attempt to secure their first-ever AFCON Tournament appearance at the Amahoro Stadium on Thursday. The Wasps will strive for back-to-back wins in the group as they welcome a winless Libya to their home turf.

FIFA Ranking: 126th

The Wasps returned from a goal down to ignite their hope of making the top two in the group. Rwanda, who went behind at the break, scored twice in five minutes to snatch the lead against a solid Benin Republic. It was one of their best performances as they dominated their guests from start to end, converting two of their four shots at goal.

Rwanda have now won once, drawn twice and lost a game since the tournament began, stirring in third place on the log.

After their recent run, Rwanda jumped four places up in the FIFA ranking. Torsten Spittler's men will strive to make it to the AFCON Tournament for the first time in their history.

Libya

FIFA Ranking: 122th

Last five games: WLDLL

The Mediterranean Knights were overwhelmed by their emotions as they opted to repay Nigeria with the same gesture they got away from home. Libya overcooked their aggression by denying Nigeria a training facility and good reception. This resulted in Nigeria failing to honour the game and filing a complaint to the apex regulators. Having been found guilty, CAF awarded Nigeria all the points and fined Libya.

The implication is that Libya National Team have now lost three times in the group, and their hopes of playing in Morocco next year have shattered.

Libya have picked up one point from a combined twelve, conceding seven and scoring twice.

Expert Betting Tips

Libya have never lost against Rwanda in their last five meetings. The reverse leg ended in a point shared among both teams despite Libya leading on their home turf. This is the only opportunity the hosts have to book their ticket to the next round, as they won’t get anything in the Nigeria game in the coming days. Rwanda played well against the Benin Republic despite conceding first, and we are confident they’ll secure all the points against a below-par Libyan team.

We also think this game will produce more goals after the break for 2.19.

Rwanda might get a halftime victory on their ground as they are yet to lose any game since they opened the Amahoro Stadium.

Good luck!
