Even being placed in the 'group of death' with Italy, Spain, and Albania should not prevent them from proving themselves. After all, they can reach the playoffs by finishing third in the quartet.

Croatia played their first pre-Euros friendly a day earlier than Portugal - on 3 June - and beat North Macedonia 3:0. 

Although they conceded twice in the match against Finland, the Portuguese showed really powerful football. Roberto Martinez's team dominated, created chances, and could have scored more than four goals. Croatia will probably not play with their full-strength squad in the friendlies, and they can use rotation to ensure they don't lose to Portugal.
