PAOK vs Giannina Prediction: Can PAOK comeback after the shock in the last round?

PAOK were on an amazing winning streak until the last round when they suffered a heavy defeat in the city derby of Thessaloniki against Aris 2:1. However, they are still in the title race, and there isn’t much time for thinking of the past as the schedule is tight and every point counts. They won last week in a cup match against Volos, and now in the league, they should have an easy task against Giannina.

PAOK are currently in 3rd position in the table, and even though it was only a 2:1 defeat against Aris, it certainly was painful for them to lose against a fierce city rival. They have an easier opponent in the Cup as well and they won in the first match against Volos 2:0. Unlike their main opponents in the title race, PAOK have a little easier schedule this period and it’s expected from them to gain many points. Later they will start their journey in the UEFA Conference League

Giannina are terrible this season. They have only 12 points, same as Kifisia and it’s almost certain that these teams will be relegated at the end of the season. In the last round, they surprisingly won against a much stronger opponent Asteras T., but against PAOK they had difficulties even when they played much better, and now it seems as if the defeat is inevitable in Thessaloniki.

Of course, PAOK are favorite to win this match at home. They won’t have support from the stands as this match will be played without spectators, but they are still a big favorite at home against weak Giannina. After the win in the cup last week their manager Lucescu said that he is still disappointed after the defeat against Aris, and I expect him to start this match with the strongest lineup and win this match with several goals difference.
