Panathinaikos vs AEK Prediction: AEK are in much better form

Another difficult match for Panathinaikos at home, as they will welcome AEK in the 29th round of the Greece Super League. AEK seems unstoppable at the moment, and they are the biggest favorites for winning the title although the end of the season is far. Panathinaikos can’t stabilize and after great performances against Olympiakos, they lost against PAOK at home last round while AEK won in the derby against Olympiakos at home last weekend.

In a very intense and interesting match last weekend Panathinaikos lost against PAOK in this stadium 3:2. It was a very disappointing result for everyone in the club as they had big confidence after the win against Olympiakos before the international break. However, they are now in 3rd position with 59 points, 6 points less than AEK, so this match is very important for them to gain points to remain in the title race. Their manager announced that they will play offensively as they are not in a position to wait for something to happen.

AEK on the other hand are on the right way to win the title again this season. They had their ups and downs this season, but since they are out of all other competitions, their main objective is winning the title, and they are recording great results. In the last round, they won against Olympiakos in a difficult match at home with a goal scored in stoppage time. Panathinaikos have a different approach to the matches and there will be more space for AEK’s attackers to create chances and maybe score more goals.

In September AEK won in this stadium 2:1, but it was the beginning of the season, while this is the playoff and there isn’t much space for losing points in this phase of the league. Panathinaikos are certainly willing to win in front of their fans after the defeat in the last round but AEK knows how to play under pressure, and I expect very tense match in which both teams will do everything to get all 3 points.
