Currently, South Korea is five points ahead of Iraq for an automatic qualification spot in the 2026 finals, with four consecutive wins under their belt. They have been particularly strong in away games, winning their last five qualifiers with a total score of 18-2. Their last World Cup qualifying loss was back in March 2022, losing 1-0 to the United Arab Emirates at Al-Maktoum Stadium.
