Oman vs Kuwait Prediction: Both are searching for their first victory

Oman will welcome Kuwait at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Game Week 4 of the FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers. Both are searching for their first victory. Who will come out on top after 90 minutes?

Oman return to the World Cup Qualifying action on Thursday as they look to get their second-round group off to the perfect start. Oman had made a very promising start to the previous round by topping their qualifying group with 13 points, but they were not so lucky in their first two third-round matches when Oman lost both the matches.

Under new management, Oman will look to win for the first time in the third round to elevate their position in the group.

Kuwait will also hope to make history by trying to qualify into the group stage of the World Cup for the first time in their history. The qualifying journey has been a mix of determination and resilience as they almost failed to get out of the second round, topping it instead, eventually progressing ahead of India and securing the ticket by winning 1-0 against Afghanistan. 

Kuwait started third-round group matches by earning a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Jordan as Yousef Nasser's injury time penalty earned his team valuable points. They returned home to earn a goalless stalemate against Iraq, and qualification chances are not yet dead as they announced a new coach in July-Juan Antonio Pizzi.

Now, ahead of their next match, Kuwait will be very well aware that a win will bring them much closer to all but sealing their chances for the top two spots in Group B, for which the top two teams are assured a World Cup group-stage spot. Having already incurred two draws, they will look to make that stalwart defense a decisive win on Thursday and keep their World Cup hopes afloat.

Both the teams are of almost similar quality and will play with full force to come out victorious to boost up the chances of qualification for the World Cup. Despite Oman losing its last two games consecutively, the Omani are still likely to be slightly in advantage in the game and anticipate their first victory in the third round.
