Olympiakos vs Giannina Prediction: Olympiakos are back in form

After several bad matches, knocking out of the national Cup, Olympiakos picked themselves up and played two good matches. Especially important was the match in the last round against Aris which Olympiakos won 2:1 in Thessaloniki. In the 20th round of the Greece Super League Olympiacos will welcome struggling Giannina, and with a win here they will be back in the title race.

Very surprising for this team, but Olympiakos dropped the form in one of the most important periods of the season. Fortunately for them, they quickly woke up and got back to winning, to stay in the title race. They were knocked out of the National Cup by their biggest rival Panathinaikos, but in the league, they showed strength and character and won on difficult away match against Aris 2:1. Olympiakos are in 4th position with 38 points, 6 points less than PAOK and Panathinaikos, but there are many more matches till the end, and nothing is lost yet. This match shouldn’t be very difficult for Olympiakos as they are playing at home against a much weaker opponent.

Giannina are in 13th place in the table with only 2 wins so far, 6 draws, and 11 defeats. They are among the worst teams in the league, playing way below the needed level for this championship. In the last two matches in the league, they were defeated by PAOK and Panesarrikos conceding 6 goals and not scoring once. They were also defeated in their last 3 away matches, and I don’t think that they can end that streak against mighty Olympiakos.

In the last 5 matches between these teams, Olympiakos won three times, and two matches ended in a draw. However, this season Giannina are not on the needed level to play and hopes to get a good result against Olympiakos who are trying to get back in the title race. Even though this match will be played without fans, Olympiakos are very strong and after they were defeated by AEK in this stadium they will be even more motivated to win this match.
