Enyimba Aba vs Akwa United Prediction: The People’s Elephant will maintain their decent home record

On Wednesday, the People’s Elephant will face off against Akwa United in their third league game of the season at the Enyimba International Stadium. The hosts were overwhelmed by their opponent on the road recently, and we expect a positive response from them against Akwa United tomorrow. 

The People’s Elephant, who began their league journey with a (1-3) victory over Heartland Owerri in the Oriental Derby and defeated Lobi Stars (2-1), suffered their first loss of the campaign. Enyimba Aba were below par against the former NPFL Champions, conceding twice without a response. The (2-0) against Rivers United was their first in all competitions this season. 

The Eastern-based team and two-time CAF Champions wrapped up their campaign in third place despite spending most of their time at the league's top. 

Olarenwaju’s men will be determined to maintain their decent home record. 

The 2020-2021 champions have had a terrible start to the season, as they have gone three games without a win. They bowed to pressure in front of their home supporters against Sunshine Stars, a defeat that was a shock to everyone.  Before then, they had shared the spoils against Abia Warriors and Lobi Stars. 

Fatai Osho men always start strong; however, with three games without a breakthrough, we expect a solid performance from them here.

Over their previous eighteen meetings, Akwa United have won five while Enyimba Aba have won seven and six games ending in a tie. Enyimba Aba head here following their first defeat of the season. They were totally dominated by Rivers United who scored twice to secure the maximum points. Enyimba Aba must respond with a decent performance on their ground if they are to challenge for the title, and they can’t ask for a better team than a side who have failed to win any of their last three matches.

We anticipate an open encounter here with goals at both ends for 2.57.
