Abia Warriors vs Remo Stars Prediction: The Sky Blue Stars will come off with a point at least here

After surviving relegation last season, Abia Warriors will be poised to start strong when they host Remo Stars at the Umuahia Stadium on Sunday. Both teams will be poised to start strong this season, however, we expect fewer goals here.

The Pride of Abia escaped relegation last season, wrapping up their campaign in 12th place, six points above the relegation zone. They also lost the Aiteo FA Cup to newly promoted side El Kanemi Warriors. It was a disastrous season for the former NPFL winner, and must avoid such a run this time. 

Abia Warriors rely heavily on their home form to rack up points in the previous season, losing just once in nineteen league matches, and Coach Erasmus Onuh’s side will look to keep that record running. 

The Sky Blue Stars have finished in the top four for three consecutive seasons. They set the bar really high last campaign, wrapping it up in second spot. 

Unfortunately for Daniel Ogunmodede's men, they were eliminated by AS FAR Rabat in the CAF Champions League qualifying round. 

Remo Stars have signed fifteen players for the new campaign, and we expect them to maintain their momentum still.

Abia Warriors have won once game, while Remo Stars have recorded three victories and two games, ending in a tie over their last six meetings. Abia Warriors failed to achieve their goal last season, spending most of their time in the relegation zone. They’ll be keen to get off to a flying start but have a stern test against a well-organized Remo Stars at home. This game will likely produce fewer goals as both teams will prioritize defense.
