Last season was a great one for Real Madrid. They added three trophies to their trophy cabinet and are determined to win even more. Real has retained their squad's core and added to it with free signings, so there will be plenty of competition for playing time in the friendlies, so motivation should be no problem. Milan has a similar situation with a new head coach, but the level of the players is much lower, so it will be hard for them to expect success in the upcoming match. 

Milan and Real have not faced each other in the Champions League for a long time, but their frequent friendlies in recent years have built up a solid history of direct confrontation. Their rivalry is intense and effective. In their seven previous games, they scored 25 goals (an average of 3.57 per game) - a very high figure.
