Last season could have been one of the best in Liverpool's history, but in the end, it was anything but. Arsenal is another team that has been bitterly disappointed in recent times. The Gunners have finished runners-up in the Premier League on two successive occasions. There is no doubt that Mikel Arteta's wards will be back on top in the forthcoming league campaign. The Gunners have retained the core of their squad, while the addition of Ricardo Calafiori should help strengthen their defense. Arsenal played just two friendly games this summer, beating Bournemouth and Manchester United by 2:1.

Liverpool and Arsenal ended last season on opposite sides of the standings, with very different points-scoring dynamics. The Merseysiders had a tremendous first half of the season but then dropped many points and slipped to third place, with a solid gap to the leaders. On the other hand, they struggled in the early stages of the Championship, but in 2024, they showed excellent results, and the Londoners played very well in the pre-season control games.

Both teams are very high, especially in a league as competitive as English.
