Lion City vs Tanjong Pagar Prediction: The Sailors will advance to the next round

Lion City will lock horns with Tanjong Pagar at the Toa Payoh Stadium on Saturday. The Sailors will try to console their fans by winning the Singapore Cup, while the visitors will be poised to retain the trophy. 

The Sailors began their journey with a commanding display against Balestier Central. Diego Lopes and Richairo Zivkovic scored three times, while Adam Swandi once found the back of the net to humiliate Balestier Central. 

After a disappointing season, which saw them lose the SPL title to Albirex Niigata for the second consecutive season, the Sailors will be out to console their fans by winning this tournament.

They failed to make it out of the group phase last season, but they are expected to go far this campaign.

The Jaguars began their campaign with a slim (2-1) victory over Hougang United. Tanjong Pagar drew the first blood but needed an own goal at home to secure all the points.

This season, they conceded sixty-two times while scoring thirty-nine times. Tanjong's major problem was their defense, as they have let in more than a goal over their last eleven games. Tanjong Pagar have won three and lost eight away from home this season. 

Lion City have won seventeen while Tanjong Pagar have won once and two games ending in a tie over their previous twenty meetings. The Sailors are doing good for themselves and will be determined to win this trophy. Lion City have an important game in the AFC Champions League, and we are not certain they’ll feature their best players. Regardless of who they feature, we expect them to score in both halves for 1.67.

This won’t be an easy game for Lion City as the defending champions will likely get one or two goals; bet on halftime over 1.5 goals for 1.76.

Lion City will win and score more than three goals for 2.10.
