Lion City vs Tampines Rovers Prediction: Both teams will be pleased with a point apiece

Two of the most exciting teams this season will go toe to toe at the Bishan Stadium on Thursday. The Sailors have shown signs of a champion after seven games without a defeat but face a stern test ahead of their clash against title contenders, Tampines Rovers. This matchup has produced lots of excitement over the years, and we don’t think this will be different.

The Sailors produced one of the best performances of the season as they scored twice in a minute to put off the blazing fire of Balestier Central. After an end-to-end game which saw both teams score twice after the break, Lion City striker Maxime Lestienne found the back of the net in the 93rd and 94th minutes to secure the maximum points for his side. Lion City have been up and running this season, heading here with six victories and a stalemate. Lion City have scored twenty-four and conceded six goals since the start of the season. Considering their recent recruitment, they looked like the only team ready to win the league this season. 

Lion City have won all their last four games on their ground.

The Stages continued their fine form to the season as they triumphed over Brunei DPMM at home. Tampines Rovers found the back of the net three times to record five consecutive victories in the league. 

The hosts have had a pretty solid start to the season, heading here without a defeat over their last seven matches. The Stags are tied on points with Lion City at the top of the table, and we can see them challenge the league leaders this season.

Tampines Rovers have won twice and drawn a game on the road this season. 

Over their previous twenty games, Lion City have won eight while Tampines Rovers have recorded seven victories and drawn five. Tampines Rovers have been in decent form lately and have conceded once in four matches. They have also won five consecutive matches, and a victory here will give them the edge in the race to win the SPL title. At the same time, Lion City have been up and running lately but not entirely convincing. This game is one of the most anticipated in this season, but we are not sure a winner will emerge here. Both teams have been at the top of their game this campaign, and a share of the spoils is the most reasonable outcome.
