As Kuwait approaches the midway point of the third round of qualification for the 2026 World Cup, they are currently five points behind Jordan in the race for an automatic spot in the finals. Juan Antonio Pizzi's team has struggled to secure a victory in this stage of the qualifiers, with five winless matches so far. Still, they are three points clear of Oman and within three of Uzbekistan for a top four position, which would lead them to the fourth round of qualifying and their World Cup hopes.
Kuwait has managed to net only one goal in the two home matches during the third round of qualifiers. Their last home victory came against Afghanistan in June (1-0). This will be their first time to the third round of World Cup qualification since 2014, and they have not reached the final stage of qualifying since 1998. Their last win in a third-round qualifying match was in November 2011 when they came from behind to 2-1 thumping of United Arab Emirates.
Kuwait Predicted Lineup
Al-Rashidi; Al-Sanea, H. Al-Enezi, El Ebrahim, Ghanem; S. El-Enezi, Abdujabarah, Zayid, Al-Dhefiri; Daham, Khalaf
Jordan form
Jordan has advanced to the third round of qualification after missing out in 2014. They have successfully positioned themselves at the top of Group G after two successive clean sheets and not only so, but they have picked up points in four out of five matches played. Jordan plays well away from home- it topped its second-round group and won four points as a visitor in the third round. Since they lost in the final of Asian Cup against Qatar in February, they have lost only one in 11 matches. In the qualification for 2026, Jordan has fought hard as they have gathered points even when they received the first goal and never got beaten with a lead.
They won only one in their last seven matches with Kuwait, but they did not lose any.
Jordan Expected Starting lineup
Abulaila; Nasib, Al-Arab, Abualnadi; Haddad, Sadeh, Al-Rashdan, Al-Mardi; Al-Tamari, Al-Naimat, Olwan.
Kuwait vs Jordan Expert Bets
In four of the last five games between these two teams, they played to a draw. With Jordan struggling to find its finishing stroke lately, that will likely continue into the next match and Jordan may play for a stalemate.
