Jordan vs South Korea Prediction: Jordan has a better goal difference

Jordan will welcome South Korea at Amman International Stadium in Game Week 4 of the FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers. Jordan has a better goal difference between the two in the group. Who will come out on top after 90 minutes?

Jordan, that has never qualified for a FIFA World Cup tournament before, is flying to qualification for the expanded 48-team 2026 tournament. It topped its second-round group with 13 points from six games, one point ahead of Saudi Arabia on goal difference. Under Jamal Sellami, who became coach in July 2024, they go into the third-round group following a win and a draw from their first two games, placing them at the head of the table with four points, equal to South Korea and Iraq. Every game counts for them if they are to remain in the running for automatic qualification.

Sellami will be eyeing a crucial victory over South Korea tomorrow, as they seek to carry an unbeaten start under his tenure.

South Korea, seeking its 11th consecutive World Cup appearance, swept the second round of qualifying with 16 points from six matches. In the third round, they struggled to get started, drawing scoreless against Palestine and squeaking past Oman, needing two goals in the final minutes to seal the victory.

Hong Myung-bo, second time team manager, would look for better performance in the match as they have constantly played against Jordan. They were not able to win against Jordan in their group stage of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup that ended 2-2 and lost also 2-0 in the semi-finals, thus having the motivation to win now.

The hosts are likely to field the same side from the last two matches. Yazan Al-Naimat will be the clear choice for strike as he scored twice in the previous game. Mousa Al-Taamari is listed in the squad, but he has not played since he was injured against Kuwait. He should be an absentee for this game as well.

South Korea has also called up Heung-min Son on the list despite missing several matches for Tottenham Hotspur while he was nursing an undisclosed muscle injury. He must be fit in time for this match and can expect a similar lineup from the one when they left Oman 3-1 in the dust with Hee-Chan Hwang and Kang-in Lee on the wings.

Although both teams have equally good results in the group stage, South Korea is believed to be a stronger squad than the opposing side and can win.
