Ivory Coast vs Benin Prediction: We anticipate total dominance from the host team

In preparation for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Ivory Coast will face off against Benin at the Stade de la Licorne Stadium on Saturday. The Elephants will play their first game since they were crowned the AFCON Champions, while the visitors are looking for their first win in fourteen matches.

The Elephants moved ten players up in the FIFA Ranking after their successful time at the AFCON tournament. Ivory Coast, who struggled to win games in the group stages, managed to get past Senegal in the knockout phase and went all the way to securing the title. Ivory Coast won four consecutive games, scoring six and conceding three times. 

The Ivorians will be looking to make a statement by showing the world why they are the best, and we think they’ll secure the maximum points here. The Ivorians have a wealth of experience and quality in their squad, and we expect them to dominate this encounter.

The Cheetahs have had a terrible run of games over the years as they march here without a victory in their previous fourteen games. Coach Gernot Rohr has failed to win any games since his appointment, losing three and sharing the spoils five times. Benin has been nothing short of disappointing in recent months as it failed to qualify for the AFCON. Benin have at least scored in all except one of their last eight games. 

The visitors have won once and drawn a game in their last two meetings against Ivory Coast. Since the appointment of Emerse Fae as Ivory Coast's tactician, they have won four consecutive games. Although, they were vulnerable at the back in most of their games at the AFCON tournament. On the opposing end, Benin have not won any game since March 2022. They’ll face a side who have been fantastic in their last four games, and think the hosts will win and score more than a goal here for 1.57.
