Lazio vs Udinese: After the disgrace in Naples, the Romans must recover at home

Lazio will take on Udinese on Matchday 15 of Serie A. Will the home side be able to recover from a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Napoli last time out? Take a look at the sides’ form and decide what you’d like to bet on.

Lazio are still in pursuit of the Europa League title, but at the moment, they are unsuccessful. However, the density in the Italian league table is so high that, in the best-case scenario, the Romans could already be level on points with sixth-placed Juventus. They are currently sitting in eighth place on 21 points. Maurizio Sarri’s side has lost the last two legs without scoring a goal. First, 0-2 to Juventus at home and then 0-4 away to Napoli. In between, Lazio were beaten 3-0 by Lokomotiv in the Europa League, guaranteeing themselves a place in the play-offs. 

Udinese wear the title of Serie A mid-table side, and this season they confirm that title once again. Yes, they only win occasionally, but they rarely lose as well - most of their matches have ended in a draw. As for the most recent fixtures, after beating Sassuolo 3-2, Udinese lost 1-2 to Torino, and last weekend they drew with Genoa 0-0. Udinese are 14th on the table with 15 points.

We believe that Lazio will be stronger in this meeting. If the match took place in Udine, everything, of course, would not be so easy. But in Rome, and after two defeats to top clubs, like Lazio, they have to get three points. All the more so because it’s in the Italian capital that Maurizio Sarri’s side looks more energetic than they do away (they’ve picked up 16 of 21 points there).
