Bologna vs Inter: Nerazzurri to pick up three points and move into the Serie A lead

Inter have beaten Bologna away in their last three games in a row. Will Simone Inzaghi's side be able to snatch three points from Renato Dall'Ara again? Our prediction is that the Black and Blues will win comfortably!

Bologna are a typical mid-table side in the Italian Serie A, for which the main task is to keep their place in the elite division. The Red and Blues have no problems with the solution to this problem, so they can enjoy their football without looking up at the standings, which, incidentally, put them on 13th place. In their last four games they did not lose once, although they did have to play twice away with such prestigious opponents as AC Milan and Juventus, but even they managed to draw 0-0 and 1-1 respectively.

Inter continue their fight for the league title. This season, the Bianconeri have been consistently good all season but by February something went wrong and they won just once - 5-0 - against Salernitana in their seven league games. It looked as though that setback would be the defining moment in the title race for Inter Milan as they let themselves be overtaken by their rivals, but Simone Inzaghi's side has not lost a point in their last four games, claiming four straight victories by a combined total of 9-2. This surge has allowed Inter to climb up to second place in the table, and they are first in terms of points lost.

In the Serie A, the teams have played 165 head-to-head games. The Red and Blues have won 48 games, the Black and Blues have been stronger in 79 games, with 38 games ending in a draw. The goal difference is also in favour of AC Milan, 255-196. This season, the opponents met once and Inter won 6-1.

Inter are the leader of the championship in terms of lost points, but now the points must also be gained to climb into first place in the standings. They will next face a Serie A runners-up, but Simone Inzaghi's side has already seen action in April in which Bologna dropped points to AC Milan and Juventus and therefore should not be underestimated. Moreover, in the last three head-to-head encounters, the Milanese have beaten the Red and Blues by a combined total of 10-2; therefore, we should try and place our money on Inter winning with a handicap (-1.5) for 2.03.

Surprisingly, Inter and Bologna's matches in Milan are often goal-rich, but at the Renato Dall'Ara, there are constant problems with goalscoring. In their last seven encounters, the opponents have combined for only 13 goals (1.86 goals per game on average), which is modest by the standards of the Italian championship. Now, it's important for the Black and Blues to get another pragmatic victory, so we would like to see Total Under (3) goals for 1.92 as a good option.

Lautaro Martinez is one of the key players for Inter, but he has lacked stability this season. The Argentine was particularly poor in the second half of the winter when he failed to score in ten consecutive matches in all competitions. Thankfully, the 24-year-old has flourished again in the spring, enabling him to net eight goals in his last eight encounters, an average of one goal per game. Obviously, the Black and Blues forward is in great form at the moment, so a bet on Lautaro Martinez's goal is worth considering at around 1.80.
