Istra 1961 vs Hajduk Split Prediction: Istra can win against this Hajduk

The team from Pula is facing the season's last domestic test against a member of the "big four". On Sunday, Hajduk will arrive at "Drosina", which traditionally attracts many spectators, and it can be assumed that it will be the same on this occasion. In such an environment, the players are more eager to play, and there is an additional motive, beating Hajduk is always a great success, regardless of the current strength of the Split’s giant. Hajduk are in Medulin and there awaits a clash against Istria 1961 in Pula, and everything flows as a sign of regret for the missed opportunity of the season and the fact that this match means nothing objectively, while it should have been very significant and interesting. Jure Ivankovic enters this match in a completely different atmosphere than the one prevailing in Istra because in the previous week, they were defeated at home by Varazdin. Defeats are an integral part of the game, but the Split public criticized the approach and way of playing of their players who played the game on their home turf completely disinterestedly and without enthusiasm. The team from Split fell out of the race for the title at the beginning of April, when they lost four in a row and cemented themselves in third place in the championship.

In the previous three meetings of these rivals this season, Hajduk won 1:0 in Poljud in March and 0:2 in Pula last November, and last September Istra shocked the Whites with a 0:1 victory in Poljud with a goal by Mateo Lisica in the 101st minute and caused to Hajduk the first of seven domestic defeats this season. Before the match, interim Hajduk coach Jure Ivankovic announced that Anthony Kalik and Dominik Prpic will not travel to Pula due to injuries. However, it’s expected that Perisic will start from the beginning and Hajduk to finally play with all the stars from the start. Both teams are playing for pride and fans, the pressure is certainly bigger on Hajduk, and it’s expected that this team will show some reaction on the field after last week's disaster against Varazdin.
