Hearts vs Ross County Prediction: Hearts to end their poor run

Tynecastle Stadium will host the week 6 Scottish Premiership game between Hearts and Ross County. This season, the two teams have struggled in the majority of their matches. Will either team secure a win in this encounter?

Like every other encounter, Hearts ended on the losing end the previous weekend against St Mirren and will look to end their woes with a win in this game. In a game that ended 2-1, Craig Halkett’s strike in the 18th minute of the game could not salvage a point for Hearts, as Toyosi Olusanya’s 34th-minute goal for St Mirren was enough to seal three points for St Mirren. Entering into this game, Hearts have lost all of their last eight matches into this encounter. In the league this season, Hearts have only one point, coming in their opening day game with Rangers. 

Ross County and St Johnstone battled to a 3-3 draw the last time out and will look to return to winning ways. In that encounter, Ross County Ronan Hale put Ross County in the lead, but St Johnstone went to score three goals to overturn the scores. However, Ross County scored twice in the last ten minutes of the game to salvage a point at full time, thanks to Alex Samuel and Akil Wright’s strikes. Heading into this game, Ross County have one win, one draw and three defeats in their last five matches.

Hearts have not shown character nor play at the level they have laid in the past years this season. However, Ross County, despite coming off consecutive unbeaten matches, do not look good as a team either. While Hearts are heavily favored to win this fixture, their overall season games have not ended in wins. With home advantage, I feel Hearts will rely on defensive play while doing well to secure maximum points.
