Guinea vs Ethiopia Prediction: The two nations are in search of their first win in this qualifier

Alassane Ouattara Ebimpé Olympic Stadium will be the venue for the AFCON qualifying encounter between Guinea and Ethiopia. The two teams have struggled in their first two games. How will they approach this encounter?

Guinea are coming off a defeat to Tanzania and will look to return to winning ways. In that encounter, Guinea took the lead in the 57th minute through Mohamed Bayo’s strike, but poor defensive performance saw them concede twice before the end of the match. However, the home nation also started their AFCON qualifier, which ended in a defeat against D.R. Congo. Guinea sits in the bottom spot of the Group H standings with zero points. 

Ethiopia started their AFCON qualifier with a goalless draw with Tanzania and then struggled in game 2. Last time out against D.R Congo, this team failed to score at home and lost 0-2, with two second-half goals from their opponent being enough to hand Ethiopia their first defeat in consecutive matches. However, prior encounters to that defeat saw Ethiopia draw three while winning. 

The two teams have not been playing well lately, and it is tough to back either side off. This could be a competitive game as the two nations will look to secure their first win in this qualifier. In the meantime, provided Guinea are at their best, winning this game at home should not be an issue. While Ethiopia could have a lot of defensive work to do, a bet on the home team with few goals is the best option.
