Nations FC vs Accra Lions Prediction: We anticipate a share of the spoils for both teams

With the aim of winning the Ghanaian League Title this season, Nations FC can’t afford to drop points when they lock horns against Accra Lions at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Friday. At the same time, the visitors will be keen to return to winning ways after their recent stalemate at home.

Unfortunately, the hosts might not win the league this season, having gone five games without a breakthrough. Nations FC, who were at some point at the top of the podium, are now seven points behind the league leaders with five games to play. They suffered another defeat on the road as they were beaten by Aduana stars. Before then, they settled for a share of the spoils on their ground against Gold Stars.

The hosts have won nine and drawn six games over their fifteen home matches.

James Francis' men failed to keep up with their pace as they settled for a stalemate against Aduana Stars on their ground. After creating several goal chances, their opponent were formidable at the break, and Accra Lions couldn’t break the deadlock. Accra Lions have now picked up eight points from their last five games, scoring three and conceding three. Accra Lions moved to the 2nd spot on the log, having secured forty-four points from a combined eighty-seven. Accra Lions have won three, drawn seven and lost four away from home this season. 

The reverse leg ended in a victory for Nations FC on the road. However, Nations FC have been below par lately and are yet to win any of their last five games. They’re lucky other teams have been struggling this season, and that’s why they still maintained their spot on the log. At the same time, Accra Lions have been pretty solid lately, barring their defeat against Hearts of Lions.

Accra Lions are one of the best visiting teams in the league, they have lost the joint fewest games away from home and drawn the second most games. The hosts are desperate for the maximum points to challenge for the title, while the visitors have the same aim. It’s not an easy game, but we think the guests will at least secure a point here for 2.05.

We think both teams will be pleased with a point apiece for 1.85.

We expect this game to produce less than a goal for 2.14.
