Asante Kotoko vs Hearts of Lions Prediction: Porcupine Warriors will start strong this time

On Sunday, Asante Kotoko will square off against Hearts of Lions at the Baba Yara Stadium. Porcupine Warriors are the most successful team in the history of the Ghanaian Premier League; however, they finished fourth spot and failed to make the Intercontinental spot.

Porcupine Warriors had one of their most difficult campaigns last season, winning thirteen of their thirty-four matches. Asante Kotoko had the best away form last season but scuffled on their home turf.

Asante Kotoko head into the new season with a new coach, and it’ll be interesting to see how they approach this campaign.

The visitors returned to the Premier League after eight years in the second league. Hearts of Lions were the crowned champions of the Access Bank Division One Zone 3 League title. The newly promoted side have retained their coach, Salifu Fatawu, and added some quality players to their squad in preparation for the new season.

Over their previous six games, Hearts of Lions have won three while Asante Kotoko have recorded two wins and a game ending in a draw. Asante Kotoko would try to improve their home form this season after winning just eight of their previous seventeen. On the contrary, Hearts of Lions will be out to upset the Porcupine Warriors in their first game of the season. It’s left for Asante Kotoko to prove themselves here after their shambolic performance in the previous campaign; bet on a home win and over 1.5 goals for 1.92.

We have a feeling Hearts of Lions will at least get a goal here for 2.64.

Asante Kotoko might even get a halftime win here for 2.04.
