Asante Kotoko vs Gold Stars FC Prediction: A stern test awaits the home team, who can’t afford to drop points here

With three consecutive victories in the league, the most successful team in the Ghanaian Premier League can’t afford to drop off when they face off against an in-form Gold Stars team at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday.

The Porcupine Warriors have won three consecutive games in the league, and a run inspired their solid defensive display and effective attacking gameplay. More recently, they secured another emphatic victory over Dreams FC, scoring twice and conceding once to cart away all the points. Asante Kotoko were at the top of their game once again, as Saaka Dauda and Yahya Baba found the back of the net twice just before the break. This was after their (1-0) win over arch-rival Hearts of Oak on their home turf.

Frimpong Manso's men have been up and running this campaign as they occupy the second spot on the log. Gold Stars head here following their (2-1) victory over Nsoatreman at home. Micheal Nkoah's halftime goal and Foster Agyei's second-half goal were all they needed to bounce back from their (1-1) stalemate against Karela United on the road. 

Gold Stars have picked up twenty-seven points from a combined forty-two and are three points below Hearts of Lions at the top of the log. Gold Stars have won twice, lost once and drawn five games on the road this campaign. 

Asante Kotoko have won four while Gold Stars have recorded a win and two games ending in a tie over their previous seven meetings. 

The Porcupine Warriors head here with an excellent display on the road against Bechem United. They have been up and running in their last three games, and this might be their toughest test in a long time. Ogum’s men will face off against a resilient Gold Stars, who have lost just once since the league began. This is another tough game for the hosts, way more delicate than their most recent opponent. Gold Stars have lost just a game this campaign, but we don’t think they stand a better chance against the hosts.
