Weserstadion

The first fixture on Sunday of Week 28 of the Bundesliga will involve Werder Bremen facing an excellent SC Freiburg team in a vital encounter at the Weserstadion on Sunday. Werder Bremen is presently 11th in the Bundesliga rankings and has not played well recently. In their previous encounter, the hosts were pushed to a 2-2 tie by FSV Mainz and will need to step up this weekend.
SC Freiburg is now sixth in the league table and has performed admirably this season. The visitors suffered a close 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich last week and will need to bounce back in this game.
Both teams will be looking to get back on track. Werder Bremen has lost their previous five games, while Freiburg has dropped out of the top four after collecting only two points in their last three games.
The dip in form for the home team couped with sloppy defending makes Freiburg the slight favorites. However, goals are expected from both teams.
Werder Bremen (WLLDLD)
Werder Bremen continues to give the fans entertaining football this season although the team has experienced a dip in form. Werder Bremen has produced high-scoring games with the last six games producing a minimum of three goals.
Werder Bremen seems to be a specialist in scoring late goals this season and this is largely thanks to the brilliance of the German attacker, Niclas Fullkrug. This was on display last week when he added another to his swelling tally by sensationally stealing a point for Werder Bremen last week against Mainz 05.
Injuries will force Werder Bremen to be without Felix Agu (who is suffering from a knee injury) and Amos Pieper (suffering from an ankle injury). The good news for the team will be the return of Jean-Manuel Mbom who missed much of the season due to a long-term injury.
Werder Bremen's possible starting lineup:
Goalkeeper: Pavlenka;
Defenders: Stark, Veljkovic, Friedl;
Midfielders: Weiser, Bittencourt, Gross, Stage, Jung;
Strikers: Fullkrug, Ducksch

Away | 13 | 4 | 4 | 5 | 19 | 29 | -10 |
SC Freiburg (DDWDDL)
RB Leipzig replaced Freiburg for the fourth and final Champions League qualifying slot last weekend. Hence, Freiburg will play this game to win all three points in Bremen. A look at the current form, Freiburg is a stronger team than their opponents.
Freiburg was going to find it difficult to beat Bayern Munich two times in a week after winning at the Allianz Arena for the first time in their history to knock them out of the DFB-Pokal quarter-final stage. However, the effort the players put into that game is worthy of admiration.
With regard to injuries, Freiburg will be without Manuel Gulde and Daniel-Kofi Kyereh due to thigh and knee injuries, Philipp Lienhart should be in contention to play after returning from injury to replace Gulde in his team's loss to Bayern last week.
Freiburg's possible starting lineup:
Goalkeeper: Flekken;
Defenders: Kubler, Ginter, Lienhart, Gunter;
Midfielders: Eggestein, Hofler, Doan, Grifo;
Strikers: Gregoritsch, Holer

Expert Betting Tips
Werder Bremen started the season in amazing form but is recently in a bad form. To get at least a point from this fixture, the home side will have to rediscover the form shown at the beginning of the season. However, Werder Bremen plays an open and exciting game all season, and we expect the home team to continue playing this way. The home side is safe from relegation, at least for now, but will need more points to be really safe.
Freiburg will be aiming to return to winning ways to enable the club to push to achieve its aim of qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in the club's history. Freiburg has been an excellent team this season and will need to fight hard to restore their spot in the top four. On their day, the away team can carry the day and will be looking to give RB Leipzig and Union Berlin a run for their money.
A win is therefore expected for the away team but the home team will score at least a goal. Potential scores could be 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, or 2-3.
