Borussia M vs Borussia D Prediction: The hosts have one of the best home stats in the Bundesliga

The fifteenth round of the German championship starts with a match between the two clubs in Mönchengladbach. Despite the pitch factor and great personnel difficulties, Dortmund is the favourite in the pairing.

Borussia's current form raises many questions. The team dropped out of the German Cup, losing away to Darmstadt, and since then, Borussia has lost three of their four games in the Bundesliga, winning only 3:1 against Stuttgart. These results resulted in Gladbach dropping to ninth place in the standings, three points behind Leipzig, who are situated in the Eurocup group stage. The home statistics, meanwhile, are fifth in the division, with five wins in seven games and two defeats at the hands of Eintracht and Mainz. Most of their recent losses were away matches.

As we expected, the Bumblebees had difficulties in the match against Wolfsburg. First and foremost, the reason for this was the staffing difficulties of the future visitors. On 8 November, the Bumblebees lost away to Wolves with a score of 0:2, despite beating Bochum 3:0 three days earlier. Dortmund has 25 points on their side before the start of the 15th round, six points less than the leading Bayern. Their away statistics mean Dortmund sits eighth in the division, +3=0-4, 8:12 goal difference.

Given that Dortmund's staffing problems have not gone away and have even worsened, we think the bookmakers are wrong about the odds on the opening match on Matchday 15 of the Bundesliga. We predict a similarly negative outcome for Friday's meeting for the visitors. In addition, let's not forget that the hosts have one of the best home stats in the Bundesliga, while Dortmund's away stats are far from ideal.
