Austria vs Italy Prediction: The visitors will at least not lose

In a friendly match, Austria will face Italy on 20 November 2022. Check the team conditions and choose several betting options.

Austria will miss the upcoming 2022 World Cup. Austria managed to qualify for the qualifiers but lost straight away to Wales 1:2. They then played six games in the Nations League, picking up just one win, one draw, and four defeats. Austria beat Andorra 1:0 in a friendly in November.

The Italy national team is also not going to the World Cup in Qatar. By some miracle, the Italians, the reigning European champions, lost to modest Northern Macedonia (0:1) in the qualifying rounds. In the Nations League, too, they have not been spectacular, with three wins, two draws, and one defeat in six games. And in November's friendly against Albania, Italy was victorious 3:1.

In this context, we propose betting on Italy. After all, Italy has the more powerful squad, and they need to be in better shape for UEFA EURO 2024 after their embarrassing qualifying performance at the 2022 World Cup. Austria only managed a reluctant 1:0 win over Andorra in their November friendly, while Italy put up a decent showing against a stronger Albania. The visitors will at least be comfortable in this encounter, with at least two goals.
