Nantes vs Clermont Prediction: Nantes looking to maintain supremacy over Clermont

Clermont will play Nantes at the Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday in an effort to hold onto their place in the top half of Ligue 1.

Following a thrilling 2-1 Europa League victory over Qarabag at home on Thursday night, Nantes enters the match on Sunday with renewed hopes of progressing further in the competition.

In Ligue 1, Antoine Kombouare's team is stranded in 15th place, only two points above the drop zone. The Canaries have moved out of the bottom four after earning four points in their past two league contests against Brest and Nice.

Since the beginning of the year, Nantes has had a great home record, losing only two of their last 15 Ligue 1 home games at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

After losing 3-1 to Brest at home last weekend, Clermont was unable to extend their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to five games.

Clermont gave Nantes a run for their money on both occasions last season, but failed to earn any points, losing 2-1 on the road in October and 3-2 at home in April.
