Tunisia vs Equatorial Guinea Prediction: The Atlas Lions are the favorite here, even though the guests can’t be underestimated

On Wednesday, the Atlas Lions will play their third FIFA World Cup qualifier against Equatorial Guinea at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi. Tunisia, who have picked up six points from a combined six, will strive to return to the top of the podium against a winless visitors.

The Atlas Lions nosedived nine places down in the FIFA rankings following their terrible run in recent games. However, they’ve been clinical in this competition, securing the maximum points against São Tomé and Malawi. 

The performance in the just concluded AFCON Tournament was nothing to write home about, and they are yet to record a breakthrough since their journey in the competition.

The Elephants have been sanctioned by the football governing body, FIFA, as to the eligibility of Equatorial Guinea captain Emilio Nsue, who won the Golden Boot as the top goalscorer at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year. The apex regulator confirmed the player was never eligible to represent the African nation throughout his eleven international career.

After a thorough investigation, Equatorial Guinea have been stripped of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification victories against Namibia and Liberia, in which they secured a (1-0) win in both games courtesy of his goals.

Equatorial Guinea will have to start over again and must now win all their games to stand a chance of playing in the World Cup.
