Libya vs Mauritius Prediction: The Mediterranean Knights will dominate this encounter

On Thursday, the Libyan National team will square off against Mauritius at the Martyrs of February Stadium. The guests haven’t won any competitive matches since 2016 and head here after failing to make the AFCON qualifying rounds. At the same time, the hosts will hope to maintain their decent run at home.

Since the arrival of Milutin Sredojevic, the Libya National Team have won five and drawn twice, although five were friendly matches. Libya haven’t played in the AFCON since 2012; they have been poor both home and away. The Mediterranean Knights have won once and drawn a game in this round. They defeated Kenya away from home and held on against Cameroon in a (1-1) share of the spoils. Ahmed Krawaa has been influential for the hosts in recent games and has provided an assist or score in five of their last seven matches. 

Libya have picked up four points from a combined six and have scored twice and drawn once in the FIFA Qualifying Group.

The Dodos stand no chance in this qualifying round as they are the lowest-ranked team in the group. They have lost once and drawn a game since the campaign began. Mauritius head here with a defeat at home against a winless Chadian Team as they failed to make it to the AFCON Qualifying Round. 

Fidy Rasoanaivo's men are one of the lowest-ranked teams in this competition, and their last appearance here ended in a point in six games.

Libya has improved massively in the last eight games, winning five and sharing the spoils twice. The Mediterranean Knights are a football playing nation but have never won a major trophy in Africa. Their new Serbian coach has instilled a new spirit in the team and we expect them to get off to a flying start against a Mauritius team who were unable to get past Chad in the AFCON Preliminary Qualifying Round.

It’s going to be a smooth start for the hosts and we expect Ahmed Krawaa to get a goal or two here.
