Australia is a regular participant in the World Cup. The last time the Kangaroos failed to make it to the final was in 2002. They qualified for the tournament five times in a row, even making the playoffs at the 2006 and 2022 World Cups. They're currently in the qualifying stages for the World Cup 2026 and have yet to have the best results. So far, the hosts played four games in the third stage, winning just once. They beat China 3:1, drew with Indonesia and Japan (0:0 and 1:1), and lost to Bahrain. That's enough for second place in the group.
Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia also often plays at the World Cup. Out of the last eight qualifiers, the Greens and Whites have never made it in 2010 and 2014. On the other hand, they've only reached the playoffs once, in 1994, dropping out in the quarterfinals. This time, in the first four games, they beat China 2:1, drew with Indonesia and Bahrain (both 1:1), and lost to Japan 0:2. The Saudis are currently placed third in Group C. The team's poor performance in their first match led to the resignation of Roberto Mancini, and now Hervé Renard is the head coach.
Expert Betting Tips
The teams are going head-to-head in the race for the ticket to the World Cup 2026. It's unlikely they'll catch up with Japan, but they've got to beat Bahrain, China, and Indonesia. Playing at home, the Kangaroos will likely come out on top. They've also managed four victories of the previous seven H2H. They're now the favorites, too.
This match is all about solid performances. In the 21st century, the rivals have met seven times and scored 25 goals in total (3.57 on average). In five matches, the opponents exchanged goals and reached the total over. We can expect an eventful game this time as well.
