Ethiopia vs Sudan Prediction: A draw will be a huge outcome

Martyrs of February Stadium will host the African Nations Championship qualifying encounter between Ethiopia and Sudan. The last meeting between these sides ended in a 2-2 draw. Will there be a winner in this one? I will preview this game below and provide betting opportunities. 

Ethiopia played D.R. Congo the previous time out and secured a win. In an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, Ethiopia needed strikes from Mohammed-Nur Nassir and Bereket Desta to secure maximum points. However, Ethiopia have won three of their last five games, two against Eritrea in consecutive fixtures. However, this team has lost to Guinea D.R. Congo while drawing Tanzania, Djibouti, and Guinea Bissau. In their last five home matches, Ethiopia lost three and won two, scoring five and conceding eight. 

Sudan played Angola the previous time out in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier and settled for a goalless draw. However, prior encounters saw this team lose to Niger and Tanzania. In fact, their last wins were against Ghana and Tanzania, but coming from home matches. Away from home, Sudan have two wins, coming against South Sudan and Mauritania. In other encounters, they suffered consecutive defeats, conceding at least two goals in each. Heading into this fixture, Sudan has not won any of their last three matches. In that run, they lost one and drew two. 

I expect the two teams to set the tone ahead of their second-leg clash; hence, they can not afford to lose. While I feel this will be a high offensive game, looking at how their past meetings have ended, Sudan are doing pretty well than their home opponent. Yet, Ethiopia at home have a good chance as they can not afford to lose. This should be a close one, and while it is open for both teams to grab, a bet on goals ending 2-2 is a good option.
