West Ham vs Chelsea Prediction: We expect a productive game

In the 23rd round of the English Premier League we are waiting for quite an interesting encounter between two London teams - West Ham will take on Chelsea at home. Both clubs in the current campaign do not show the best game.

The last three games have been positive for the Hammers. The Londoners scored two unanswered away goals against Derby County to reach the last eight of the FA Cup. The team scored four points in the two English championship meetings. In both meetings, the team scored four goals against Everton at home and beat Newcastle United on the road. In their last meeting, the teams traded goals, 1:1. West Ham is 17th in the standings with 19 points.

Coach Graham Potter has been criticized for the club's poor performances. After the transfer of Mudrick, the club played away to a 0:0 draw with Liverpool. Next, they hired Enzo Fernandes and again failed to produce any results. Chelsea's home game with Fulham ended with the same result. Potter's side is currently sitting in ninth place in the EPL standings.

As for the upcoming meeting, there is a rather curious statistic. West Ham has won just two of their last nine EPL matches. One of those victories was recorded specifically over Chelsea in December 2021 (3:2). Obviously, there is some progress in the Hammers' actions now. West Ham needs to get out of the bottom of the table, the composition and resources allow the team to perform much better.
