Manchester City vs Tottenham Prediction: Will the Citizens return to the championship race?

This midweek will be a rescheduled match between Manchester City and Tottenham. Both teams suffered defeats in their derbies. Check the team conditions and choose several betting options.

Man City is eight points behind, leading Arsenal again. Last weekend, the Citizens lost the Manchester derby at Old Trafford by a score of 1:2. A controversial goal from Bruno Fernandes changed the course of the game and forced the team to play openly, for which they were punished. City is breathing down the neck of United and Newcastle, who are only one point behind. Man City crashed out of the League Cup earlier in the season, losing to Southampton FC in the second leg (0:2).

Tottenham is three points clear of the top 4. Last weekend, Spurs lost the North London derby to Arsenal (0:2). They couldn't keep up the pace of the Canaries in the first half and couldn't make up for it in the second half, although they had several good chances to score against Aaron Ramsdale. Thus, the gap from the top 4 is already five points. At the same time, they have played one more game than MU.

Man City will undoubtedly try to make amends for their defeat, and because of that, Pep Guardiola's side will be hitting Hugo Llaurice's goal with as much energy as Arsenal did last weekend. And Tottenham will undoubtedly do something on the counterattack. But the Citizens are far more motivated than the Spurs, who have dropped out of the top four.
