Chelsea vs Brentford Prediction: Can we expect a fourth successive encounter?

Chelsea will face Brentford at home in round 33 of the English Championship. Both clubs approach the encounter with a poor streak of performances. Who will be able to rectify the negative statistics and can we expect a fourth successive encounter at Stamford Bridge?

After a 0:0 home draw with Liverpool, Chelsea failed to score in two games in the English league. Under Frank Lampard, the Blues lost first to Wolverhampton 0:1 and then to Brighton 1:2. Chelsea is already in the second ten in the EPL table - 11th place with 39 points. It is worth noting that the Aristocrats expectedly lost twice to Real Madrid and finished in the Champions League playoffs. Both meetings with the royal club resulted in a 0:2 draw.

Brentford is no longer considered a contender for the European Cup competition. They have been in a bad position in the last half of the season. In the previous five rounds, the Bees have only managed to pick up two points - draws with Brighton and Aston Villa. The team lost to Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Wolverhampton in that period. After that stretch, Brentford dropped to tenth place (44 points).

Chelsea has not been able to play well since Frank Lampard's return. Against Brentford, the Aristocrats will have opportunities to score, but Thomas Franco's men have shown their mettle against stronger opponents many times this season. For example, we can immediately think of the home defeat to Manchester United and the away win over Manchester City. The home side will have another challenging game in the current EPL campaign. A draw and goals from both clubs cannot be ruled out here.
