For the first time since October 2022, under Carlos Corberan, West Brom has had to endure another five-game winless run in the Championship. A disappointing spell of a match at Ewood Park against Blackburn, as no win could be sealed there either as this is the first team to avoid defeat in the home ground of Blackburn this season. Chances were missed by Darnell Furlong and Torbjorn Heggem for West Brom. That has seen West Brom drop from the summit of the Championship table down to fourth, with two points behind Sunderland and Burnley. Although at The Hawthorns remains an Albion stronghold, their performance has been shocking for them this season with just two goals scored and one conceded in five home matches. Top scorers including Tom Fellows have also flopped in a number of recent matches failing to score in any of the last matches after quite a number of matches in which they scored.

He states that he was certainly good enough to take up the coach's position permanently. The team got back-to-back home wins against Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth, scoring a total of 7 goals. Callum Robinson scored in both games, doubling his season's tally. Riza's team collected 10 points from five games and thus threw them out of the bottom three to 20th position in the Championship table. Cardiff's away record remains a worry as they did not win any of their five away games this season.
