Swansea, like many other clubs in the Championship, are currently going through a period of transition as they wait to see which players will join and leave before the end of the summer transfer window. Recently appointed manager Michael Duff has already seen key player Joel Piroe move to Leeds United, but this is not the sole reason why the Welsh side have yet to secure a win in the league. Although they have managed to claim two points from losing positions in matches against Birmingham City and Coventry City, they have also conceded five goals in their away games against West Bromwich Albion and Preston North End. Their only clean sheet in six matches came in the EFL Cup against Northampton Town. It is clear that Swansea will not be able to improve on their performance from last season unless they become more solid in defence. While their primary focus will be on securing maximum points against Bristol City, Duff will also see this as an opportunity to finally keep a clean sheet in the Championship.

However, there is a feeling that the Robins need to find a better balance, as none of their goals have come in the first half and their only victory against Millwall was achieved through a last-minute winner. While Pearson will be satisfied with keeping Bristol City in the running for a top-six finish at this stage, it is clear that they need to find a spark in their attacking play rather than relying solely on Nakhi Wells.
